The Torrington Players was founded in 1980 by a small group of enthusiasts in Great Torrington,
a picturesque market town situated in North Devon in the Southwest of England.
![]() Our membership since then has increased more than ten fold. We stage two productions a year and these are performed in our local, well equipped theatre, The Plough Arts Centre, 9-11 Fore Street, Torrington, EX38 8HQ. As you will see when you link to our Past Productions page, over the years we have covered a wide range of entertainment comprising, Drama, Comedy, Musicals and Pantomime. ![]() |
New members, with or without previous experience, are always earnestly sought and warmly welcomed.
If you live locally and have an interest in acting, stage lighting and sound, set building or just
generally getting involved, please use the link below to email Webmaster (David). 2005 was a special year for The Torrington Players because it was our 25th Anniversary. To celebrate the occasion a Garden Party was held on July 3rd. If you use the 25th Anniversary link opposite you will see a group photograph of us all (or most of us!). Guest Book: We do not have a Guest Book as such but we are always delighted to hear from visitors to this site. In addition to staging two productions a year, the Players occasionally involve themselves in other local events in which their talents can be deployed. For information and reports of these events, please use the link.. "Other Activities" |
